Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka shankar is an British and American sitar player. She also performs music. She won the British House of Commons' Shield as the youngest, and first female recipient. Alongside receiving nine Grammy nominations, she was also the very first Indian-origin musician to present at and perform in the live ceremony. Anoushka Shakar, a young rising star on the Indian Sitar, is Anoushka. She is the student and daughter of Ravi Shankar. She was a child who bounded back and forth from London and New Delhi. Her first performance took place at New Delhi when she was thirteen years old. She then moved to Encinitas CA, where she received the High School diploma with honors in 1999. Anouskha's career as a recorder and performer is quite impressive, in spite of her young age. She has been accompanying her father in the stage for a long time. The singer released Anourag her first solo album in 1998. In 2002, she released her Grammy award-winning album Live At Carnegie Hall. The stage is a very important aspect of her life. She's performed at many famous venues around the world. Anoushka isn't only a singer. Bapi The Love of My Life is an illustrated biography that she composed in 2002. It is a tribute to her late father Ravi Shankar. In 2003 she starred as an Bharat Nathyam young dancer Dance Like a Man. Anoushka's career is still developing and she will continue to achieve great success in the future. Anoushka Shakar, who was born in England spent a large part of her time between London Delhi. Following her move to California she completed high school. At the age of nine, she began her studies in music under her father making her performing debut with the sitar four years later at the celebration of his 75th birthday in Delhi. As a part of her dad's band as his world tour, Anoushka was able to accumulate a variety of performances in Carnegie Hall while still in her teens performing at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival as well as making recordings together with George Harrison. The youngest female to be awarded the House of Commons Shield, awarded by British Parliament as recognition of her musicianship and artistry in performing in the Asian Arts.
